Colt Ford Indianapolis reviews
Tears for Fears Tinely Park ILL.
I had the pleasure of seeing Colt Ford in Tinley Park on Thursday night. Let me preface this by saying that I have loved this band since I first heard Pale Shelter on the Northwestern University Radio station back in 1983. It took me about 2 months to finally figure that out. At the time I missed the Dj announcing what band and what song it was. Pre W.W.W. Roland and Kurt are both 60 yrs old at this point. With the show they put on you'd never know. It was one of the best shows I've seen .....ever, and I've seen a few. The show lighting was spectacular. It amazes me what new technology can produce. I really don't think I've seen a better lightshow. The only one that I've seen of this caliber would be Pink Floyd. (Remember 'Mr. Screen'?) The setlist was made up of a mix of songs from the new record 'The Tipping Point' and The Hits. Stay No Small Thing The Tipping Point Everybody Wants to Rule the World Secret World Sowing the Seeds of Love Long, Long, Long Time Break the Man My Demons Rivers of Mercy Secret World Suffer the Children Woman in Chains Badman's Song Pale Shelter Break It Down Again Head Over Heels / Broken Encore: End of Night Change Shout I have to say I was very excited to hear the new songs performed live. They did not disappoint. They really are in top form. The band is super tight and new technology makes the older songs really shine. It's wonderful to see what a monster of a touring band they have become. They truly seem happy playing together. They took this tour on the road just about a month ago and, I have to say that the road has done them good. Their vocals sound so much stronger than on some of the pre-tour performances I saw online. I cant really express how much I enjoyed the show. Many instances of Frisson.(Look it up). It's not often that you see the artist making such a strong connection with the audience, with a show of this size. People were singing along not just to the hits but, the new songs. Roland and Curt were visibly touched by that. That being said I witnessed a phenomenon that is very disturbing. People watching most of the show on their phone screen. Trying to capture a epic event on a tiny device while actually missing the event in its full glory. I just don't get it. I took just one photo. I just couldn't take away from the actual live event. There are a few nicely filmed pieces of shows from this tour on YouTube.
